OLEAN — Al Linderman scored on a penalty kick in the 77th minute as Olean blanked Fredonia 1-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division boys soccer Thursday.
Trevor Persch had five saves for the Hillbillies (1-3-0, 0-1-0).
Olean improved to 3-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the league.
RANDOLPH RALLIES
RANDOLPH — A pair of late goals helped Randolph rally past Ellicottville for a 3-2 East Division victory.
The Eagles led 2-1 after Sam Edwards’ goal from Caedon Wyatt in the 44th minute.
Griffin Nelson then tied the game with a goal from Cooper Freeman in the 64th minute for the Cardinals. Freeman then scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute from Nelson.
Ellicottville (1-3-1, 1-1-0) led 1-0 in the ninth minute when Ignacio deOrbe scored from Wyatt. Randolph (2-2-0, 1-1-0) answered in the 34th minute as Mathurin Griffith tallied from Nelson.
RISHEL, MOORE
HAVE HAT TRICKS
Keegan Rishel and Eli Moore both had hat tricks as Maple Grove beat North Collins 8-0 in the Central Division.
Rishel had two of his goals and RJ Helt added another as the Red Dragons (4-0-0, 2-0-0) built a 3-0 first-half lead.
After the break, Moore scored all three of his goals while Rishel and Trent Moore each added a goal.
Alex MacCallum had two assists while Eli Moore, Trent Moore and Benny Brown each added an assist.
Andrew Auer made two saves in net for the shutout.
“The defense — Sam Eimiller, Paxton Faulk, Luis Gradewald, Matt Trim and Orry Gerring — played great again,” Maple Grove head coach Cara Abbey said.
North Collins fell to 1-1-0 overall and in the league.
REYNOLDS LEADS
GOLDEN COUGARS
CATTARAUGUS — Alex Reynolds had two goals and an assist to lead Falconer/Cassadaga Valley to a 5-0 East Division shutout of Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley.
Reynolds and Max Comstock each scored a goal from Austin Main while Christian Wilshire scored from Reynolds during a 3-0 first half.
After the break, Ethyn Gilbert tallied from Alex Hudson and Reynolds scored from Gilbert for the Golden Cougars (3-2-0, 1-1-0).
Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley fell to 0-5-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the league.
PORTVILLE COASTS
PORTVILLE — Nick Harmon had two goals and an assist as Portville beat Pine Valley/Gowanda 7-1 in the East Division.
Kyle Mathes, Michael Cole, Brady German, Bryan Randolph and Christian Gariepy also scored for Portville (5-0-1, 2-0-0) while Mathes and Zach Buckner added assists.
Darwin Westlund scored from Matthew Rugg in the 38th minute for Pine Valley/Gowanda (1-2-0, 1-1-0).
